Environmental Mission
RTI’s environmental mission focuses on three environmentally responsible and optimal maintenance-of-way services: prevention, training, and best practices. Prevention is the most effective way to eliminate potential hazards and damage to the environment. Proper prevention requires adequate and ongoing training of RTI crew specialists and employees. Prevention and ongoing company training are essential ingredients to maintain optimum results for establishing best practices in an environmentally volatile environment. Best practices involve employee, railroad, and community safety along with every effort to maintain the integrity of the environment within which we operate. RTI is also committed to investing in innovative methods of disposing used railroad ties and rail.
